Tasted from this cellar 11/1999 Anyone who's enjoys lush ripe dessert wines at thier best should endeavor to taste d'Yquem 1988, it's a classic. Often overshadowed by the '89 and '90 the '88 is an extremely luscious wine. A riveting nose, it is packed with over ripe condensed oranges; it's the balance that always gets me with d'Yquem, almost seamless; silicon like in texture, it glides around the mouth unloading mountains of super sweet lemon and orange flavour; the finish is long and even. Absolutely awesome. DW
