Paul Bracq was the celebrated designer of coachwork styling for both Mercedes-Benz and BMW. Of French origin, born in 1933 in Bordeaux and spending twenty-four years from 1943-1967 with Mercedes as joint-chief designer, including the famous 'pagoda' roof 280SL , and from 1970 with BMW for whom he produced the stunning M1 prototype. A highly capable draughtsman with a very artistic flair, he produced many artworks for promotional and recreational purposes.
