A Three-Tier Lacquer Sweet Stand

Designed as a three-tier, square stand with a flat top which forms the lid when the stand is inserted into the outer container; three shallow tiers lacquered in black, gold and silver togidashi on a mokume ground and the lid decorated in hiramaki-e with a coiling dragon on a matching ground, heart-shaped apertures lined in silver in all corners, undersides and base of the shelves nashiji; outer case decorated with a pine beach and waves in gold and black togidashi, kirigane, nashiji and kimpun on a roiro-nuri ground
