Third quarter 18th Century
The rectangular top above a hinged sloping flap with a green cotton-lined writing-surface to the reverse, enclosing a fitted interior with a central door enclosing a plain interior with one shelf, flanked to either side by a sliding secret compartment, a sliding drawer above two pigeon-holes and a drawer, three stepped drawers, above a well enclosing a plain interior with two secret compartments, the bombé base with three graduated drawers, above a shaped apron centred by floral carving, on black painted claw-and-ball feet, one secret compartment to the well missing, minor losses to the carving, minor restorations to the veneers
