Surmounted by a rectangular top centred by a gilt-tooled leather writing surface, above a frieze drawer stamped to the top Holland and Sons supported by four monopodia lions, joined by a stretcher, on four bun feet

This library table was modelled after a design by Gottfried Semper (1803-1879) which was exhibited with a porcelain-mounted cabinet top at the 1855 Great Exhibition in Paris. Now in the Victoria & Albert museum.
