I and II, 4° [285 x 220mm.]; atlas vol. of plates: 2 parts in 1 vol., 2° [342 x 260mm.]). Text: half-titles, engraved portrait frontispice of Péron, 2 folding letterpress tables. (Vol.I with old dampstaining.) Atlas of plates: 2 engraved titles, the first with a circular vignette, 4pp. letterpress 'Tableau général des planches'(part I) and 3pp. letterpress 'Table des cartes et plans' (part II), 54 engraved plates, coastal profiles and maps (comprising: 34 plates [2 folding, 18 printed in colours and finished by hand], 5 coastal profiles, printed in colours and finished by hand, 15 maps [2 folding]). (Some spotting and old dampstaining, tears to the two folding maps and plates numbered XII and XXXVI.) Uniform contemporary French blue half calf (scuffed, extremities rubbed, corners bumped, inner hinge of atlas cracked).

A complete set of the 'Historical' part of the official narrative of this important voyage. Freycinet issued an imperial 2° atlas under the sub-heading Navigation et Géographie, with 32 charts, in 1812. A 4° text volume (also Navigation et Géographie) followed in 1815. Ferguson 449; Hill p.229. (3)
