Laborde was midshipman and third ranked officer on the Uranie. He died en route to Cape Town on 23 February 1818.

the first inscribed 'un dessin par C.Laborde' (upper centre) and inscribed as title (lower centre), with inscription 'reduire ce dessin au petit format de l'atlas /- donner un peu d'effet sur le devant du tableau a ne pas graver' on an attached label, pencil, the second with inscription 'Brésil' on the reverse, the first partially squared.
