Lot Essay

The fish, all caught on the voyage and drawn on the spot by Taunay off Rawak, and the Caroline Islands, 1818-1819. The specimens include Labre Arago, named after Jacques Arago, the Baliste Medinilla named for the governor of the Mariannes and the Aspisure Lamarche, named for the first lieutenant.
