With the crisply carved beaded jewelry, broad chin, slightly flattened torso and very well defined folds, this sculpture compares closely to a number of figures recovered from Takht-i-bahi; cf. P. Pal, Indian Sculpture, vol. 1, 1986, cat. no. S46, for a large figure of a Bodhisattva of similar stylistic treatment from the Nasli and Alice Heeramaneck Collection.
