FIRST EDITION, PRESENTATION COPY, INSCRIBED BY STOUT on the first sheet: "For Mr. Durries Crane-- Rex Stout." This work consists of Nero Wolfe recipes laid in a cloth box. Wolfe, known as a gourmet, offers suggestions for such dishes as pan broiled young turkey, Boone County Missouri ham and Tennessee opposum. This was put out as a promotional item by The American Magazine, in which the novel was originally serialized.
