AN AMBER-GLAZED BRUSHPOT, BITONG
Yu Zhongkun zhi four-character molded seal mark, 19th century
Made in imitation of a bamboo brushpot, the sides finely molded and carved in high relief with a pair of cranes strutting beside a stand of four overlapping pine trees growing amidst rocks and lingzhi fungus, the flat rim stippled, covered inside and out and on the base with a glaze of ochre color, the eyes of the cranes glazed black
