A GEORGE IV MAHOGANY PEDESTAL SIDEBOARD
The rectangular top of inverted breakfront outline above four concealed frieze drawers veneered in fiddleback mahogany and with a central tablet; each pedestal having a single door in the form of an ancient Roman altar with gadrooned moulded top and a shell, acanthus apron on lion paw feet, raised on a plinth base one drawer stamped GURNEY four times
Thomas Gurney was recorded in the dictionary of English Furniture makers 1660-1840 at 110 Aldersgate Street, St Martins Le Grande as a cabinet maker and wholesale cabinet warehouse from 1806 until 1823
