An ivory and wood okimono of a woodsman
red lacquer tablet signed Seimin, Meiji period
his finely carved face with detailed expression, open mouthed and with raised stained eyebrows, wearing a cloth hat, his robes with flowerhead and banded incised decoration, holding a ragged staff in one hand, carrying a bundle of logs tied to a carrier on his back, wood stand -- 10¾in. (27.7cm.) high.
