A pair of Chinese armorial plates
Qianlong, c.1748
each painted and gilt with a central crest with two lions rampant combattant supporting a dexter hand, couped at the wrist, below a baron's coronet, supporting the motto 'Spes Tutissima Coelis', within a spearhead border -- 9 1/8in. (23cms) diam, (cracks and repair); and a famille rose armorial oblong octagonal dish, painted and gilt with a coat of arms bearing three lion heads surmounted by a further lion holding a beazant in its paws, within chain and floral garland borders -- 10¼in. (26cms) long.
