Born in Moorends, Doncaster on 7th February 1910, his career began with Thorne Colliery in 1928. He had a trial for Hull City before joining Everton in 1929. A keeper of great note, he holds two club records, his first being twenty-four years at Goodison Park (constitute the longest period of any professional at a Football League club) and secondly his 463 peacetime league appearances is also a club record. Sagar also made four full International appearances for England and won the Division 1 Championship on two occasions (1931-32 and 1938-39) and also won a F.A.Cup winners medal in 1933 after Everton defeated Manchester City 3-0 THE FOLLOWING LOTS (46-50) RELATE TO THE CAREER OF TED SAGAR
