A plate mounted horn tapering cylindrical covered jug, and three similar silver mounted tumblers, the jug with three bands and hinged slightly domed cover engraved with Stanley's cypher, with scroll handle, the tumblers with silver rims and applied with a shield similarly engraved, maker's mark of John Newton Mappin, London, 1885
the jug 8½in. (21.5cm.) high, the tumblers 3 5/8in. (9.5cm.) high.
A curious table set fashioned from African horn, and made up for Stanley on his return from the Congo in 1885. (4)
