A late Victorian boxed childrens game titled The Stanley Souvenir, the rectangular cardboard childrens box fitted with marble maze game, the inside of the lid with lithographic Stanley's March to Kavalli by James Upton, with 'Rules and Directions' and circular wooden piece. Patent No 6833. 9½ x 6½in. (24 x 16.5cm.)
Based on Stanley's Emin Pasha relief expedition, this game follows his journey, players having to negotiate a route via Stanley's Pool, The Congo Forest and Wambutti before reaching Kavalli.
