A presentation album of 60 photographs of Congo scenery, the prints mounted on the recto and verso of 30 cream card leaves, the views all titled by Stanley in ink on the mounts, the front free end paper inscribed by Stanley 'The following photos of Congo Scenery were given to me by the Revd Lawson Foreith of the Baptist Mission, Congo River, in 1894', the album 7 x 10½in. An interesting album of missionary photographs of the Congo sent to Stanley by the Reverend Foreith. In just 20 years after Stanley first passage down the Congo, the area had changed dramatically with Stanley's own administrative centres, developing as towns and missionary centres.
