A collection of material relating to Stanley's death on 10 May 1904, comprising:
Four obituaries and memorials: a 7-leaf illuminated calligraphic address on vellum by Ames & Rollinson, N.Y. with title leaf 'At a Regular Meeting of the New York Press Club held on July fifth, [1904], the following preambles and resolution were unanimously adopted and ordered to be engrossed and forwarded to Lady Stanley', initials and staves in purple ink, the opening initial decorated in gold, green and purple, others with gold infills, or gold and white decoration, the final leaf signed by George P.H. McVay and 4 others, 4° original limp morocco, watered silk doublures; Sidney Low's 'Henry Morton Stanley', a 17-page, obituary extracted from The Cornhill Magazine, vol. XVII, no. 97, 8° (lightly spotted), contemporary blue limp morocco, lettered in gilt on the upper cover, g.e.; Joseph Joûbert's Stanley Le Roi des explorateurs (1840-1904), Angers: Germain & G. Grassin, 1905, 8°, half-tone portrait frontispiece (scattered light spotting), original printed wrappers (corners lightly creased); a copy of The Illustrated London News (22 October 1904, vol. CXXV, no. 3,418), depicting the Stanley Memorial, original printed wrappers; a 6 leaf galley proof of Sidney James Low's D.N.B. article on Stanley [London: Smith, Elder & Co., 1912].

A collection of press clippings and printed ephemera: an album of obituary notices and posthumous articles about Stanley, dated 1904-1907, 4°, contemporary decorated cloth; and a 4° album compiled by Woolgar & Roberts' Press Cutting Agency, London, containing tipped-in and loosely-inserted press clippings, the majority dated May 1904, and other miscellaneous items of printed and manuscript ephemera, and photographs, 4°.

A small envelope with manuscript notes on the printing of tickets for Stanley's funeral in Westminster Abbey, the number of tickets to be distributed, and the different colours to be used to distinguish seating in the separate areas of the Abbey (envelope torn); and 3 copies of the printed order of service for the funeral, each 3 leaves, 8°.
