Literature
Although he joined Discovery as acting Ship's Steward, Ford acted as Scott's secretary and accountant and was in charge of the ship's sotres. He later settled the expedition's financial affairs, including the sale of Discovery, and accompanied Scott on his lecturing tour through Great Britain as his secretary. After tours of Canada and Australia, where Ford gave lectures, he settled in New Zealand in 1906 and subsequently qualified as an architect.
