Engraved portrait frontispiece and 63 plates, charts and maps (14 folding, 19 double-page). (Offsetting of text onto about nine plates, four plates shaved into plate area, repaired tear to one plate, vol.I, 2Z4 with paperfault tear to inner blank margin, 3B3 and 3 with margins slightly tattered.) Contemporary speckled calf (not uniform with 1st voyage), spines in six compartments, red and green morocco lettering-pieces (splits to joints, sections of spine of Vol.II eaten away). FIRST EDITION. Text: 24 engraved maps, coastal profiles and charts (13 folding). (Browned and spotted); Atlas of plates: 61 engraved plates, 2 folding engraved maps. (Two plates creased, 30mm. repaired tear to margin of one map, some browning and spotting.) Text: contemporary speckled calf, brown and blue morocco lettering pieces (splits to joints, head and foot of spine chipped); Atlas vol.: contemporary half-calf (spine-scuffed, later label).
