Victoire Boizot, the widow of Joseph-Étienne Blerzy, registered a mark on April 6, 1808, until 1813. The box is marked also with the post-Revolutionary unofficial standard mark for 20.5 carat gold, of a boy's head with the number 2. Charles Truman in The Gilbert Collection of Gold Boxes, 1991, p. 122, cites a gold snuffbox with the mark of Victoire Boizot, also bearing the boy's head, as an important document for establishing the dating of this mark which has been the subject of confusion.
