Blue interlaced Ls enclosing date letters LL for 1788, painter's mark for Evans, the cup incised 41, the saucer incised 43
Finely painted with exotic birds in landscapes named in French on the underside and reserved within gilt bands on the dark blue ground further gilt with a wide band of foliate scrolls and laurel garlands entwined to form catouches enclosing rosettes, the can with a Tyran Lupe de Cayenne, the saucer with a pie-grieche jaune de Cayenne
