A REGENCY BRASS-MOUNTED INLAID MAHOGANY SIDEBOARD**
Circa 1800
Of bowed outline, with an brass gallery centered by two candlearms, with two urn-form lead-lined urns with silver and horn spigots, the case with a central long frieze drawer above a kneehole drawer, with two short drawers to one side and faux-panelled bottle drawer to the other, each pedestal with drawer above a cupboard below, on plinth base with recessed casters, the right pedestal with two removable bottle holders with brass loop carry handles and veneered to match the case, with later divides to all other drawers, the locks stamped I. BRAMAH and PATENT below a crown

The basic design for this sideboard derives from a 'Design for a Sideboard' from Thomas Sheraton's Drawing Book 1791-1794, and is illustrated in R. Edwards, The Dictionary of English Furniture, vol.III, p.138, fig.36.
