A SMALL SAFAVID ENGRAVED TINNED COPPER BOWL
Iran, 17th century
Of shallow rounded form with T-section everted rim, the base finely engraved with a roundel of fine interlaced arabesques entwined with flowering tendrils around a circle with the name of the owner, surrounded by a broad band of figural designs on a scrolling floral ground, the sides with a band of elegant nasta'liq inscriptions on a floral ground, a band of meandering floral vine below, part of the rim with concave band, slightly rubbed, rim slightly ground down in one area, presumably to remove a previous owner's name
