AN OTTOMAN PAINTED WOODEN INSCRIPTION PANEL
Turkey, 17th century
Comprising a long rectangular panel with upper scrolling triangular pediment, the panel painted with an elegant white thuluth inscription on a blue ground, some details filled with red, triangular panels filled with white, the moulded border with chevron and zigzag patterns, the pediment with scrolling arabesques and flowering vine in white and pale yellow on a blue ground around the central cartouche with the nasta'liq bismillah, painting rubbed in places, probably slightly faded, small cracks, suspension loop above
