A 'Girl-in-a-Swing' gold and enamel-mounted bonbonniere
Circa 1750-59
Modelled as Venus and Cupid embracing, she scantily draped in a flowered dress, with blue sash and holding two billing doves, on an oval green mound base painted with pink roses and flowers, the interior with scattered pink flowers within a green foliage surround, the enamel cover painted with bouquets and scattered flower-sprays (slight crack to Venus' right thigh and small crack to dome of base near mount)
