A Lambert black smoker automaton
the unmarked Jumeau bisque character head with fixed brown paperweight eyes, parted lips, pierced ears and curly blonde wig, on figured-velvet base with open-spring motor playing one air and causing him to turn and raise his head, bringing a cigarette-holder to his lips and lifting a cane in the other hand, the smoke pulled through a pipe in the right hand and exhaled through the mouth, in original white cotton shirt with pleated front and bow-tie, cream waistcoat with metal flower buttons, black satin breeches, faded red satin tailcoat and top hat, with LB key - 24in. (61cm.) high with hat, (head repaired, replacement cigarette holder, hands repainted, satin frayed on back of coat); in a later glass case
