An unusual brown-haired bisque shoulder-headed child doll
with brush strokes on the forehead, moulded band, hair falling in curls at the back, blue painted eyes, cloth body and bisque limbs with flat heeled moulded boots, wearing contemporary muslin party frock with tucks, trimmed with mauve silk with matching hood cape --12½in. (32cm.) high, circa 1865 (small hairline crack by back tie hole and one foot missing); and a papier-mâché headed doll with wooden arms, made into a pincushion --5in. (12.5cm.) high (worn and damaged)
