Lot Essay

The Sazikov firm was founded in Moscow in 1793 by Pavel Fedorovitch Sazikov and in 1842, a branch was opened in St. Petersburg. From 1846 onwards, the firm was one of the main suppliers to the Imperial Court. The firm became known for the high quality of its silver productions above all, sculptures and tableware, which were exhibited at the World Exhibition in London in 1851.
