Each baluster on a spreading circular foot, the foot, lower body and shoulder chased with bands of anthemion, stiff leaves, lotus, and acanthus against a matted ground, the hinged cover chased as an acanthus leaf, with upswept serpent-form handle, the smaller marked on foot and shoulder, the larger apparently with maker's mark only under base
