Urn-form raised on a hexagonal base, the body engraved with band of acorns and flowers over a circular reserve centering foliate initials JH on either side, one side engraved with a presentation inscription, the interior gilt, marked on base
8½in. (21.6cm.) high; 21oz. (671gr.)

Lot Essay

The presentation inscription reads: "Unanimously Presented to Jno. Hardy Esqr. by the Committee appointed at Bradford in the Year 1800, as a Mark of the Sense they entertained of his Services, as one of their Delegates to the general Meeting held in London, for promoting the opposition in Parliament to the Exportation of Wool to Ireland."
