The greatest vintage of the 20th century. A small crop of the exceptionally ripe grapes picked early after a scorching summer. Colour, very deep tawny, similar to a Bual Madeira; very sweet bouquet and flavour, old honey and toffee. Clearly of Beerenauselse quality. Another 5-star wine. Tasted at the Schloss, Feb 2002. M.B.
