Taking full advantage of prime holdings in Ürzig, Erden (the steep Treppchen and Prälat vineyards)and Wehlen, Ernst (Ernie) Loosen is one of the younger star producers of the Mosel.
My wife has not too fond memories of our first visit to Mosel. It was in June 1956 for two weeks, it rained every day, and we went all the way, there and back, on a Vespa. Daphne sat on the rather hard pillion with all the luggage. I am not sure how our two-year old marriage survived.
