This wine is drawn from a huge mother cask in the famous Bremen Ratskeller which, from time to time, is topped up by young Rudesheim wine of a good vintage. The large volume of old wine is thus kept refreshed. Usually offered in half-bottles, this lot a rare full bottle size
Tasting note: this can justifiably claim to be the oldest drinkable wine in the world. Several consistant notes: palish amber-straw; bouquet rather like an apply old sherry; fairly dry, flavour of toasted old straw, tolerable acidity. M.B.
