Lot Essay

Burstah was a small West German freighter built for H.M. Gehrckens of Hamburg by Werft Nobiskrug at Rendsburg in 1955. Designed with her machinery aft and powered by 3 Daimler-Benz oil engines giving a service speed of 12 knots, she was registered at 1,332 tons gross (2,100 deadweight) and measured 281 feet in length with a 40 foot beam.
