the 4½in. steel dial with engraved and black filled Roman numerals, signed and stamped CHELSEA CLOCK CO., BOSTON, U.S.A. LILLEY & SON, 10 LONDON ST. LONDON SHIP'S BELL, blued-steel hands, slow/fast lever above 'XII', winding holes to strike and drive chains, the going-barrel movement with platform-lever escapement set on gilt brass bed plates, stamped with maker, patent dates and numbered '7171', strike chain with leather-ended hammer to blued steel coiled gong secured to back of nickel-plated circular case with tapered pediment stand with wooden back and base -- 7¾in. (18.5cm.) high
