In the Art Nouveau style, finely painted with a shoulder-length portrait of a woman wearing a turban and holding a stylus, within a gilt band decorated with raised vines, the border gilt with eight panels of stylized flowering branches

The original drawing for the border design, retained in the Lenox archives, describes the pattern as "Tiffany Special" and notes that it was intended for use in combination with "Geyer Heads". A set of twelve, similar to the present example but with the more common cobalt-blue ground, is retained at Lenox.
