with flaring sides, painted in brown glazes with stylised calligraphy on a cream ground -- 8½in. (21.5cms) diam; and a smaller Nishapur shallow pottery bowl, painted in brown glazes with a central band of stylised calligraphy flanked by two small flowerheads, on a cream ground -- 5½in. (14cms) diam, (both restored).
