gouache heightened with gold, laid down on an album page, showing the young woman standing facing left wearing a transparant sari, holding in her right hand a fan in the shape of a lotus leaf, outer border of meandering blue and gold flowers on a buff coloured ground. verso with five lines of elegant black nasta'liq, outer border of lotus petals on a blue ground, mounted, framed and glazed -- 15 x 7cm.
