Provincial Mughal, Late 18th Century
gouache heightened with gold on paper, laid down on an album leaf, depicting the Gopis gathered round Krishna before a river, some holding garlands, others playing musical instruments, dervishes seated in the hilly background, the outer border naturalistically decorated with delicate flower sprays, mounted, framed and glazed -- 23.5 x 14.5cm. (a few worm holes).
