The paper is Russian, laid and watermarked with the cyrillic letters BUFSAGP and the date 1795. This stands for the bumazhnaia uglichskaia fabrika soderzhatelia Aleksandra Grigor'evicha Pereiaslavtseva, the Uglich paper factory of the landlord Aleksandr Grigorevich Pereiaslavtsev. Uglich is a town north of Moscow where Dmitri, the small son of Ivan the Terrible was murdered.
