A RARE BLACK TIXI LACQUER CUPSTAND, TUOZHAN
EARLY MING DYNASTY, LATE 14TH/EARLY 15TH CENTURY

The hollow vessel is crisply carved through thick layers of black lacquer with broad bands of ruyi scrolls around the cup-shaped receptacle, on both sides of the wide flange, and on the flared foot, the interior lacquered black, age cracks
