A FINE AND RARE FAMILLE ROSE GRAVIATA RUBY-GROUND COVERED WATERPOT
QIANLONG SIX-CHARACTER SEAL MARK AND OF THE PERIOD (1736-1795)

Of oval cross-section with the compressed rounded sides finely enamelled in subtle tones of blue, yellow, green and iron-red to depict large lotus blossoms joined together by criss-crossed leafy tendrils, against an incised ruby-red ground, beneath a band of ruyi-heads surrounding the mouth rim, the rim slightly indented to accommodate the gilt-metal spoon, both the interior and base enamelled with turquoise reserving the reign mark in underglaze-blue; the similarly decorated cover surmounted by a small globular finial
