A RARE PAIR OF FAMILLE ROSE TURQUOISE-GROUND SQUARE VASES
JIAQING IRON-RED SIX-CHARACTER SEAL MARKS AND OF THE PERIOD (1796-1820)
Each vase of archaic cong shape, finely enamelled in bright colours with dense lotus scrolls, each panel with a central lotus flower in stylised form suspending musical stones, alternated with more naturalistic flowers detailed with lotus pods, attached to tasselled ruyi and a pair of iron-red elephant-head handles highlighted with gilt, all reserved against a vibrant turquoise-enamelled ground continuing onto the interior and base, the rims and edges with gilding
