A LATE MING WUCAI 'IMMORTALS' DISH
WANLI SIX-CHARACTER MARK WITHIN A DOUBLE CIRCLE AND OF THE PERIOD (1573-1619)
The dish is enamelled within the central medallion with Shoulao riding on a crane descending onto a balustraded garden in which stands a scholar-official and a child at play, amidst rocks and flowering plants, surrounded on the cavetto with a floral scroll, each flowerhead supporting a Shou character, the exterior with four detached floral sprays (rim chip and associated hairline)
