QING DYNASTY, 18TH CENTURY

Of cylindrical form, the exterior is deeply carved in reticulation to the light brown ground underneath, with a writhing dragon amidst numerous horned mythical beasts with bifurcated tails, all between key-fret bands, with a cover surmounted by a blue bead finial, the interior later fitted with a lining to convert the object into an incense holder (break repaired)
