Lot Essay

Printed with a stone from a Mexican quarry that measured 10 x 6 feet and weighed ten thousand pounds, Dos Personajes Atacados Por Perros is one of Rufino Tamayo's most ambitious exercises in print making. The grandeur of scale is augmented through the brilliance of color and tactility of medium achieved in the Mixografia print medium which was developed specifically for the artist.
