Most of the world's finest emeralds are mined at Muzo and Chivor in Colombia. However, because of the unstable conditions during the crystallisation process and their brittle nature, emeralds are often heavily flawed with fractures and inclusions. Thus, stones over 10.00 carats, produced by nature, of good colour and free of eye visible inclusions are extremely rare.
The 11.19 carat natural emerald offered here is one of the most exceptional - in its pure and rich green colour, with minor inclusions and no clarity enhancement.
