TWO THAI BRONZE BUDDHAS
Sukhothai, 15th Century and Ayutthaya, 16th Century respectively
Each cast seated in dhyanasana, the right hand lowered in bhumispasa mudra, the left resting across the lap in verada mudra, wearing a dhoti and sash over the shoulder, the face cast with a meditative serene expression below the tightly curled hair and flaming usnisa, one with a lotus base and traces of gilding remaining
